His smiling face and outstretched arm will probably
be the first to greet you as you walk in our doors. Steve Housley
is our well-spoken pulpit minister and one of eleven deacons. He also
oversees the day to day operations in the office. Visiting the sick,
leading the congregation in study, and coordinating many events at the church
building are his expertise. His elaborate sermons are easy to follow
because he often utilizes outlines, PowerPoint presentations, and useful stories. Most importantly, God has blessed him with the talent
of explaining the scriptures and evangelizing to the Eastern Meadows flock.
We'd love for you to meet this model Christian man and his family.
Our young people are specifically ministered to by Noah Jones. He is originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama and the
Central congregation there. Noah graduated from Faulkner University in
2004 where he received a full tuition scholarship. He now pursues two
Master of Arts degrees. His membership and ministry to the Eastern Meadows
flock began in February 2005.
Wilma Berry is the church secretary.
Neatly accomplishing everything she begins in due time, her friendly voice will
give you directions to our building, the procedures for getting assistance in
our benevolent program, and the latest updates on her beautiful grandchildren.
Jimmy Mathews is a very active deacon and
former youth minister to the Eastern Meadows congregation. He sees through
a variety of financial and bookkeeping operations for our elders. During
worship service, he is the operator and editor of a PowerPoint file put together
for worship. This software allows for sermon outlines, music notes and
words, and announcements to be placed on a screen in the front of our
auditorium.
